This is a nice, clean massive Waltham 18 Size Model 1892 Open Face 23 Jewel Vanguard with 24 Hour Canadian Railroad Dial. This watch has it all; quality, form and condition. This watch has a good glass crystal, good blued heavy spade and poker RR hands, good, blued sub second hand, and a genuine factory double sunk enamel RR dial made specifically for the Canadian railroad. This dial has 24-hour numerals and Arabic hour numerals. The inside of the sub second dial has a full set of 24-hour numerals for the Canadian railroad. The dial does have a pair of very slight hairlines. One is at the 18-minute marker, and one is at the 50 9-minute marker. These are very hard to see especially with both sets of Arabic and 24-hour large black numerals. This is a genuine Waltham produced enamel double sunk dial. The watch is in a large 56-millimeter open face nickel case with huge bow, large ball style crown, good stem and sleeve. This is a stem wind and lever set open face railroad pocket watch case. The front cover screws on and off with ease. This is a swingout style dustproof case. The watch has the desirable Waltham 18 size 23 jewel vanguard. The watch winds, sets and runs with brisk motion. This is a clean running quality 23 jewel railroad pocket watch sold to the Canadian market. This is a scarce and hard-to-find watch especially with the Canadian railroad dial.
